The 42nd Ward is where business happens in Chicago. Downtown Chicago’s 42nd Ward encompasses the Gold Coast, River West, Streeterville, New East Side, Near North, River North and Loop neighborhoods which comprise the Central Business District. The 42nd Ward is Chicago’s economic engine and the central hub of our city’s hospitality and tourism industries. In addition, the 42nd Ward is home to Chicago’s Fortune 100 offices and headquarters; major law firms and finance firms; hundreds of major retailers; and many thousands of small to medium-sized locally owned businesses.
